The Amazing Adventures of Little Right Sock by Brintha J. Gardner takes young readers on a whimsical and enchanting adventure with the little girl to the place where she can jump on the couch, or the wonderful rainbow world of fruits, veggies, and ice cream, or the playground where children enjoy playing on the swing or the yellow slide. They are also taken on a wild zoo safari where they see a monkey, lion, bluebird, and zebra. Let us go with the little girl as she searches for her right sock, explores new places, and learns about different things that are wondrous and interesting.
The author tackles a relevant topic with a unique approach, making the concept fresh and interesting with the little girl in search of the missing right sock. This is an entertaining way to introduce children to the animals in the zoo, the playground, the vegetable and fruit market, and home. The author used rhyming verses and that makes the story lyrical and gives it a good pace and movement. Junica's illustrations bring the concept alive and give clarity to what the author is trying to convey. The charming illustrations give the little right sock an interesting personality of its own. This book is good for bedtime storytelling and reading aloud sessions in classrooms. It is also a good way to encourage children to express themselves by writing rhyming verses.
