The Beast of Bear-Tooth Mountain by Michael John Petty revolves around Jordan and Deon, who set out to conquer Bear-Tooth Mountain despite warnings after a chance encounter with Reverend Jude Anthony. The journey takes a mysterious turn as they find themselves trapped in a cavern with an unknown entity outside. As they descend deeper, they find ancient Native American pictographs foretelling a gruesome conflict with giant creatures. Now overcome with fear and uncertainty, they attempt to escape, only to face the emergence of a massive creature with a reddish mane—a Nephilim. As they battle through tunnels, a chaotic chase ensues and the cavern collapses. When an ancient vow is brought to light, the stakes of the final confrontation ratchet up to an unthinkable level.

The Beast of Bear-Tooth Mountain by Michael John Petty is an excellent work, and it's always impressive to me when an author of Christian fiction can incorporate articles of faith without explicitly telling us they are there. The greatest themes that come up are faith in the face of fear, shown through encounters with mysterious forces that they must push through; symbolism, like the presence of star-beings that represent celestial elements and the mountain itself symbolizing a divine connection; and the Christian values of unity and collective action in the face of a common adversary. The writing is clean, the pacing is fast, and the story itself is wildly entertaining. I have no doubt other readers will find it as enjoyable as I have. Very highly recommended.
