Bianca is a pampered young lady, but she is also a lady with a caring heart. She never knew her mother and her father is very distant. Little does she know that her pampered existence came at a price and her father is the evil that paid the price. When kidnapped by the notorious pirate, Captain Ice, and taken away aboard the pirate ship, Raven, Bianca must come to terms with some of the truths that are suddenly presented to her. And when her world starts to turn upside down and the one person she truly believed loved and cared for her turns against her, fate holds out another possibility and hope is rekindled.

Elle Marlow’s romance novel, The Black Raven, White Dove, is a thrilling tale of adventure and, of course, romance. The adventure certainly outshines the romance element as the protagonist, Bianca, struggles with her new reality aboard a pirate ship. Having been spoiled and protected all her life, she even surprises herself when she discovers that she can do all kinds of things for herself, like cook, and cook she does for the entire crew of misfit pirates. The plot thickens as the originally conceived antagonist, Captain Ice, unravels the mysteries surrounding his need for revenge and the part Bianca plays in his plans. Only fate serves them another possibility as the two band together to fight the real evil that threatens them both. With very realistic characters, a thoroughly and lavishly described setting (on the coast of Portugal) and a fast-action, compelling plot, this historic romance is a page turner, captivating the reader right to the end.
