The Call by Maggie M Lily is Book 1 of the Building the Circle Series. Matilda is disabled but she doesn’t let it get in her way. Self-employed as a consultant for the liquor industry, she sets off for an important meeting with Trellis Industries, hoping to land the contract of a lifetime. A mishap or two along the way makes her late and she fully expects to lose the contract. Jake Trellis is every woman’s dream – tall, dark and handsome and rolling in wealth too. A lover of pool and beer, he meets his match in Matilda and they embark on a journey like no other – screeching, foul-mouthed models, slobbering dogs, a fantastic family and much more – heading towards something much bigger than either of them anticipated.
The Call: Building the Circle, Book 1 by Maggie M Lily is packed with humor and some language. This is a fast-paced, 'blink and you miss it' kind of story that tells the tale of Jake and Matilda. The characters are solid; a sassy, height-challenged, disabled female lead and a tall, dark, brooding male lead and both are really well developed. What’s impressive is how well all the other characters have been developed too and there is a large cast here. The storyline is good, there is definitely plenty of action, with no let-up at all, and you will struggle to put it down. All in all, a great read, humorous, and one that will leave you gasping for breath and laughing out loud in places.
