Author Biography

D.A.Chadwick has written nine books and several screenplays. She has worked as a freelance translator of French, German and Dutch to English for twelve years and is a member of the American Translator's Association.

When not writing or translating, Chadwick is a substitute high school teacher who enjoys ghost hunting, fishing, building model ships and playing 12 string guitar. History and archaelogy are passions as well as doing research. Truth seeking led to a working knowledge of Biblical Hebrew and Latin.
"When researching my family history I discovered that one of my ancestors was involved in a murder involving two Kansas cattle ranchers in 1890 and I published the story in 2000 as 'Blatherskites: The Frazer/Gibson Murders.'"

The Chimera Project, is a thriller based on the stories my father used to tell us thirty years before the "shadow government" was admitted to by President George Bush and the "Commander X" books were published in the 90s. Dad was US Army intelligence and assigned to the Pentagon. He was passed away now and there is no reason to keep this information secret any longer.

I recently completed a novel I started at age twenty, The Good Nazi, about two friends who end up on opposite sides of the fence in Nazi Germany. My current project is a novel based on my experiences at boot camp in 1983, The Killing of Private Joatmon.

This summer I am reading 300 Feldpost letters from German soldiers on the Russian front for a nonfiction book.

Inspired by true events and stories passed down from his father, D.A. Chadwick’s The Chimera Project is a most interesting read. Hunter Brodie gave new meaning to “down-on-your-luck”. He was dealing with it all: a college dropout, divorcee, child support, overdue car payments, rent and utility bills, a flopped book, and a low paying job that just laid him off -— his plate was definitely full. Just when he is thinking of ending it all, his life executes the perfect “about-face” when he finds and publishes a mysterious, 40-year-old manuscript. The Chimera Project truly begins to take shape when Brodie’s overnight success and now peaceful life as a best-selling author is rudely interrupted. Mysterious men in black suits begin appearing everywhere and spying on him!

Written primarily from a 3rd person-narrative stance, D.A. Chadwick delivers a quality body of work. He skillfully moves between two timelines and provides his audience with a smooth-flowing read from start to finish. While character dialogue is rather light and seemingly reserved for key moments of the story, character development is displayed well with the protagonist. Touching multiple genres within the story to include science fiction, suspense, and mystery, Chadwick has also managed to expand his audience. All the ‘i’s are dotted, all the ‘t’s are crossed, and his ducks are in a row as he takes the story to great depths and new levels concerning a highly debated and controversial topic -— Roswell, New Mexico.
