The Willow family lives in a town called Barksville with their three dogs. The pups enjoy different activities, from collecting things to playing in the sprinklers. One is bowlegged, one has a bent tail, and the other forgets where she hides the things she's collected. During a family outing at the beach, one of the Willow family’s four children drops her favorite doll in the water. Her crying draws the attention of other beach-goers and the pups. Will Rachel get her doll back, or will she have to let it float away in the ocean? Will this turn of events ruin the family’s day at the beach, or will they find a way to make everyone happy again? Find out in The Fantastic Pups, written and illustrated by Rachelle Gage.

The Fantastic Pups by Rachelle Gage is a short children’s story about a family with four children and three pups. Each pup's quirk makes them different and special to the family. Kids will fall in love with the characters as they enjoy their typical daily activities and how they interact during their family outings at the beach. The colorful illustrations add a layer of fun to the story that children will love to follow. I love how this story shows the amazing familial bond between pet owners and their loyal pets. I recommend it to small children, especially those who love animals and family adventures. I hope to see many more stories like this one by Gage.
