Author Biography

My name is Sherri Eri. I love picture books, even though it has been ages since I was of picture book age.I’m visually-impaired (VI). And in the process of writing my first book, I realised I didn’t want VI kids to ever be left out when it came to understanding a picture book.

The Fart Brigade is a children’s picture book written by Sherri Eri with illustrations by Nuratiqah Sabrin. The story follows a group of canine and feline friends; Tom, Fartini, Flo, Wawa, Bess, and their formidable leader Joe, who are members of The Fart Brigade. The group lives in the Wendy Vale National Park, and they help animals with their superpowered farts. In this installment, The Brigade rescues a rabbit, a horse, a peacock, and a swan. Unfortunately, a gang of evil clowns traps all the members of the brigade and plans to steal the creatures in the park and sell them for gold. How will The Fart Brigade get out of this predicament and save the animals who depend on them?

I had a lot of fun reading The Fart Brigade because it was entertaining. The entire concept of this book is comedy gold. A bunch of puppies and kitties farting up a storm to save their fellow animals is a unique and hilarious story. The story also teaches children to help one another and the power of working as a team. Sherri Eri does a great job of telling this story in a way children will love. Her use of fart sounds and the brigade’s official call to arms, fart-fart go, was creative and funny. The book has colorful illustrations that perfectly correspond with the story. They depict the adorable yet fierce members of the brigade. The art reminded me of children’s cartoons and made me realize the story has the potential to become a television show. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves reading children’s superhero picture books with a dose of comedy. Great work.
