The Great and the Grand by Benjamin Fox is a beautiful book that shows the contrasting images of the old and the new, age and youth, and experience and innocence. The book captures the essence of a family through its generations. As the grandfather gets ready to meet the new baby in his family, readers get to know about the wisdom that comes with age and also the charm of innocence that exists in youth. The book also throws light on the past and future of the family, and the reaction when new meets old for the first time.

I found the book profound and insightful. It will make adult readers ponder and reflect, and the maturity that comes with age has been captured well by the author. The illustrations are emotional and do full justice to the author's words, and convey his thoughts with clarity. It's a good book for bedtime story-telling and parents and grandparents can connect well with their kids and grandkids. The book is also helpful in increasing the bond between grandparents and grandchildren. The message and concept are truly endearing and touching.

Books like this are good for children as it helps them understand the right balance between aging and being young. These books not only help children to bond with their families but also show the difference between being younger and older. It helps children understand elderly people and their mature perspective in a good way.
