The Happy Healthy Revolution by Theresa Y. Wee, M.D., is a well-written book that aims to strengthen the family unit and guide readers toward improving their physical and emotional health. The author begins by writing about her background growing up in the 1960s and 1970s, down to her days in medical school, her experience as a full-time doctor and mother, her struggle with depression, and more. She also discusses the 5210 rules for a healthy lifestyle, the risks of sugar-sweetened beverages and artificial sweeteners, and the need to read the labels on food while shopping. This book also enlightens readers on the process of setting goals using the S.M.A.R.T. approach. Lifestyle changes are not usually easy; they require gradual, consistent steps and a positive attitude, extensively discussed in this book.

This book addressed some crucial aspects of my life I have been struggling with, particularly balancing responsibilities with a healthy lifestyle. The information discussed was properly researched. I commend the author for sharing her personal experiences as a pediatrician and a mother of four, which made this book inspiring. I found the practical tips and recommendations very helpful as someone who is struggling with sleep due to prolonged screen time. The section that talked about the need for the family to implement health lifestyle changes as a team appealed to me the most. The writing is concise, well-paced, and easy to comprehend. It features themes on family bonding, healthy living, discipline, lifestyle, and more. I recommend The Happy Healthy Revolution: The Working Parent's Guide to Achieve Wellness as a Family by Theresa Y. Wee, M.D., to all parents and anyone seeking to improve their health.
