Author Biography

RC has done many things, including serving in the U.S. Navy. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from Bentley University in Accounting. And he found he had a knack for training pups in Basic Manners and Show Behaviors, along with midwifing show pup litters.
When he joined the Rebel Squadrons in 1996, he found that the in-mission briefings that could be written to go along with the missions he was creating for Grey Squadron were far too limited to tell the story he wanted to tell to tie the space flight combat simulation game missions together into a coherent Tour of Duty. It was here that he found a love for storytelling. The RS members who survived Grey's Tour 5 felt that the T5 fiction, which ended up over 600 pages long, was far better than most of the related fiction available commercially.
RC feels that a ‘Great Author’ is someone who can reach out of the story, grab your heart, and make you feel anything they want you to feel, to the extent that they want you to feel, and the only choice you have is to close the book. However …that same author can also reach out from that same closed book and make you open it back up again. …that being said …RC has aspirations of Literary Grandeur. LOL!!

In the prologue of “The Horseless Horseman: Jude” we are introduced to a character who is so grotesque that we cannot believe a story can be written about him. Since it is only the prologue, we read on. In time we forget about the prologue and are wrapped up in a tale that introduces the use of robots and the men who make them work to a tragic disaster, a tsunami, a real event in Japan that took place in recent memory and the potential meltdown of a nuclear reactor in that devastated country. In the backdrop of the horror of a natural disaster, which leads to the horror of an industrial accident, which leads to the death of a good man, we are introduced to the horror that we instantly feared from the prologue. Jude is created. However, although Jude is hideous and should be fearsome, he is not. What is he? The story R.C. Miller has skillfully crafted reveals the good and evil of the creature that becomes known as Jude.

Do not pick up this book thinking that you will take your time reading it. It is so engaging that you will not be able to put it down. R. C. Miller creates in Jude a character you will never forget. There is good and bad in this potential super hero, who is less a hero and more a victim, a human who has very little in common with most humans. What he does have is a soul and a mission. Although it is a bit dark, I recommend it to anyone who has the stomach for a good tale.

Both this book and the hero of this story are unlike any I've ever encountered. This dark tale is refreshingly different and masterfully woven by the author. I look forward to reading the sequel!

R.C. Miller is an excellent author who will keep your emotions and senses on edge through the entire book. He can weave a story through your mind that makes you want to reach out and help this character, but also makes you want to weep for him. Once you are through, you will be wanting to read more.

The Prologue was so depressing I wasn't sure I wanted to read any farther. But having that little bit, I was entirely left with questions. I had no idea what had happened, how he got there or why, what he was going to do from there, or if Jude would get his wish. RC Miller solidly connected me with the man that would become Jude, his family, and then the thing that was Jude. He took me places I didn't want to go, but left me little choice but to go there. Where RC took me was a wild roller coaster of emotion. It's a very dark ride, but you won't want to get off until it's over. After it stops, you'll realize the ride isn't done.

Badass Book
While starting out as a typical tale, this story takes a dark twist, and keeps on turning! "Jude" had me flipping pages faster than I have in years, and I found myself setting aside other books I was reading to give my full attention to the web that had been skillfully weaved to create this gripping novel.

Me ....?....speechless
Wow!Lately I have been reading romance and YA novels, then rediscovered free book section on kindle.I am attracted to dark tales and boy was this ever!!! Extremely well written and well developed characters. The reader becomes comfortable with Justice and his family, laughing and worrying with them. But the crux of the novel is how we suffer with him. INTENSE!

Really good story!
I really enjoyed both books. Only I read them out of order. Probably would have been much better not knowing what was going to happen as I read Jude. If you love thrillers and horror and just plain sci fi this will give you a kick in the butt for new and kewl!!

Not your ordinary ... hero?
This is not the type of book I normally pick up. However, since I won an autographed copy, I figured I would give it a try. The contents page made me laugh, after reading the prologue, I thought "well, ok I'll see where it goes." The first couple pages of the first chapter had me ready to ditch the book and say forget it. But I stuck with it and am glad I did. I would have given it 5 stars except for the editing errors here and there throughout the book. Overall I enjoyed the book and will be reading the next book in the series.
