Terrie Sizemore’s The Little Book of Big Ideas is full of creative ideas to spark your inner artistic genius. Just for fun, of course. That’s what crafting’s all about. “Crafting, celebrating holidays, and doing different and interesting things not only make our lives happy and enriched, they are fun.” So true. Terrie Sizemore’s activity book, The Little Book of Big Ideas: Activities, Crafts, and Celebrations, is a great resource of creative ideas for both the young and the young at heart (which, of course, means all of us). The author’s introduction provides an interesting insight into the positive benefits of crafting and creating things. Then she launches into a list of useful crafting materials to have on hand. The book itself is organized into sections, including celebratory crafts, like making things to decorate the house for Christmas. The creative crafting doesn’t stop there, as it also includes creative baking projects. The author includes lots of colorful illustrations to help inspire the creative reader. The author concludes with some simple, yet profound words: “Never lose your sense of wonder.” This is a great book to have, should you need something new to try.
