Amanda Lewis has beautifully crafted an unforgettable story rich with emotion, romance, and faith in her enchanting contemporary romance novel, The Musician: A Goodwater Ranch Romance. Nearly seven years ago, Isaiah Matthews disappeared without a trace. His best friend, Taylor Strauss, was left feeling lost and abandoned. After he left her behind, she was forced to pick up the broken pieces alone. Now Isaiah is back and is determined to get some answers and rekindle the love he shared with Taylor. Taylor, however, is still struggling to move past his abandonment and wants nothing to do with him. But Isaiah is not deterred. As they share their versions of what happened between them, new revelations emerge and they begin to see the past through each other’s eyes.

Lewis offers an absorbing story about God’s redemption and His ability to piece together even the most broken circumstances. The novel also explores other important themes about healing and forgiveness that I found hopeful. Laced with humor, the dialogue is entertaining and skillfully woven into the story. Lewis has an amazing gift of developing original characters with complex lives that portray real-life struggles which will resonate with many readers. With an expert hand, she brings to life the people and places in Goodwater Ranch town. This quaint town has its own eccentric, compelling characters and delightful places that form wonderful backgrounds for Taylor and Isaiah’s soul-stirring love story. The Musician by Amanda Lewis is a hope-filled, captivating story packed with intriguing revelations and uplifting themes. Readers will love its witty conversations and fascinating characters.

Amanda Lewis' The Musician follows the story of two soulmates finding each other after fate drove them apart. Taylor Strauss is a single mother and head decorator at Lafitte's Sweets whose past comes back to haunt her when her former best friend, Isaiah Matthews, a rockstar, unexpectedly makes his return to Goodwater Ranch. Isaiah had previously left the town to pursue his dreams in Nashville, leaving Taylor heartbroken. Taylor is divorced from Joe Carpenter, who still has feelings for her. Meanwhile, Isaiah's return sparks old feelings, but Taylor is unsure if she can forgive him. Additionally, Isaiah must make amends with his father, with whom he has a complicated history. While Taylor prepares for the Flywater Festival, Isaiah is determined to win back the love of the woman whose heart he had broken all those years ago.

The Musician is a story about love, forgiveness, faith, and hope. Amanda Lewis has crafted an engaging contemporary romance novel rich in Christian values and themes. What I liked about this book is how real the town of Goodwater Ranch feels. Lewis manages to bring an authentic ambiance to the setting that adds to the small-town flavor, and it makes the narrative very immersive. As a reader, you feel like you have met these characters in real life before. The romance between Taylor and Isaiah is the primary focus, but I also enjoyed Taylor's relationship with Joe and the redemption arc of Isaiah's father. All in all, this is a fantastic story with lots to love. Contemporary romance readers shouldn't miss out on this one!

The Musician: A Goodwater Ranch Romance by Amanda Lewis is about a young college friendship turned romance on the eve of their graduation. Madly in love, Taylor thinks their night of passion is the start of her life with her dreamy and talented best friend, Isaiah, but she’s disappointed when she finds out that her first time with the love of her life was also their last. Isaiah, who left for Nashville to follow his dream of becoming a musician, makes it big and lands a record deal. After seven years, he decides to revisit his hometown, hoping to reconnect with his best friend, Taylor. But that may not be possible as unresolved anger and disappointment still linger, and he finds her life in tatters, contrary to when he left to find stardom. This beautiful romance has many unexpected twists and turns and various love interests, so the reader will wonder whether Isaiah and Taylor find their way back to each other again.

The Musician by Amanda Lewis is an absorbing, emotionally charged, and page-turning romance. There were many unexpected plot twists that I didn’t see coming, which made reading this book fascinating. All the characters, especially the main characters, Taylor and Isaiah, were well-developed, with clear strengths and weaknesses, which were intriguing and endeared their story to me, experiences, and emotions. These were highly relatable. The story is incredibly well-written, allowing one to focus on the plot. The Musician is the kind of love story that can happen anywhere to anyone, and that’s what makes it believable. As the reader, you can see the narrative coming to life or existing in reality, which makes it an enjoyable read.
