The Old Cape Map by Barbara Eppich Struna is the fifth novel in The Old Cape series with plenty of mystery and thrills to keep you entertained for hours. A century ago, a pirate buried his treasure on the property around his house and left maps for the young women who cleaned the house for him in the hope that they would find it. Now, in the present day, the place where the treasure was buried is right next to Nancy and Paul’s house. Things get interesting for the couple when Nancy’s niece comes to visit them for the summer and finds a map. Excited and looking forward to a new mystery to solve, Nancy and her niece Jane try to find the treasure, unaware of the fact that someone else is after the buried treasure as well. Maxwell (Max) D. Appleton is also looking for the treasure, but there is someone else looking for the treasure as well, and he is ready to do whatever it takes to get his hands on it.

Fascinating, exciting, and very entertaining, The Old Cape Map was everything I hoped it would be. The story was incredibly rich and detailed. The descriptions were so vivid and realistic that I felt like I was part of the action. The story opened with a bang, and I knew I was in for a treat. However, the narrative really got my attention in chapter three when the action switched to 1898 with Rosalia as our narrator. The plot was fantastic, and the writing style was perfect. I enjoyed how the narrative switched between the present and the past seamlessly. Author Barbara Eppich Struna did an outstanding job of creating a remarkable story with intriguing characters and a well-fleshed-out plot. The descriptions were fantastic, the pace was perfect, and the overall feel of the story was perfect, to say the least. I just wish I had found this series before! Highly recommended!
