The People's Hope: How to Save America and the World from the Predator Class is a nonfiction government and politics book written by Lynn Maser. Maser introduces his subject with a look at today’s present political climate in the United States. While the 2016 election cycle caused many Americans to feel “sick, disgusted, afraid, and disheartened”, the events that have taken place since then have proven to be even worse than most feared. Is this America’s darkest hour or can it get even worse? And are Americans “outraged and terrified” yet? Maser says if they are not, they should be. And while staying involved in the democratic process in its current state can be painful and unappealing, Maser presents many reasons why participation in the process is more important than ever before.
In The People's Hope: How to Save America and the World from the Predator Class, Lynn Maser takes a look at the history of the United States, and she pinpoints where the attacks on democratic values have been the most insidious and effective. He offers solutions based upon his studies of history and politics and counters the methods of the predator class with the tools the American people have at their disposal. I appreciated his breakdown of the civic values, which he describes as the PH10, and enjoyed reading about each of these important concepts. He also includes an impressive list of resources for those readers who want to continue their own studies. The People's Hope: How to Save America and the World from the Predator Class is highly recommended.
