James has a dream. In this dream he is told to build an underground shelter for his family because the world is about to end soon. But the problem is, his family does not agree with James, and he really has a difficult time trying to gather the family to the shelter at the farm. And this just adds fuel to the heated arguments James and his sister, Alisha, because the topic of the end of the world is something they have argued about most of their adult life. Then a bomb is dropped by an Iraqi madman, and at last the family believes what James has been telling them. But it a bit too late, so all don’t make it to the farm. The family that do gather at the shelter is there for over two years before they have a chance to try and contact those family members that did not make it to the shelter. Can you imagine being in one house like a shelter with so many family members, along with the animals and trees, plants, all of the food, as well as the other things you need to survive? Will this family survive these years in the shelter? And what happened to the family members that didn’t make it to the shelter with them at first?

Author Elizabeth M. White creates a host of characters that have split outlooks on the Bible and the end of the world, creating a lot of chaos, and keeping the plot interesting enough to keep you reading until the end so that we can find out the fate of this family. The story goes pretty fast, and I read it in one day. Though this book is listed as Christian fiction, I do want to warn readers that throughout the book God’s name is used many times in vain, in several different ways. If you enjoy fast-paced thrill type books, and especially end of the world stories, you will enjoy this book. So why not pick up a copy today for your enjoyment?
