The Soul's Reckoning by Shireen Anne Jeejeebhoy follows Charlotte Elisabeth, who has died through MAiD, or Medical Assistance in Dying, a legal medical procedure that ends life to relieve suffering, and is given a post-death mission to complete her Soul Track. This is a divinely structured requirement that she reconcile all unresolved human relationships before she can progress in the afterlife. Among those whose relationships with her remained fractured are her hostile grandmother, her struggling sisters Sincerity and Sally, and her long-absent father. Charlotte must witness their private histories, motives, and emotional wounds, sometimes from within their minds, all while up against obstructive spirits, ancestral forces, and the constraints of Heaven’s rules. Only through the completion of this reconciliation work can she return fully to Heaven and continue her spiritual development.

The Soul's Reckoning by Shireen Anne Jeejeebhoy is technically Christian science fiction, but it feels more like a series of philosophical discussions in theology within that genre, which gives it a unique twist. Charlotte shifts through “storytelling time,” and I like how Jeejeebhoy places Charlotte in a space of non-linear mobility. She has loads of encounters, including with Jesus, and her soul companions come across as authentic. The settings are spectacular, from a stark alley to brilliant waters, and the smaller bits, like a single daisy, all leaning into an evolution of light and possibility. I am not a Christian, but I still really enjoyed the story from a literary standpoint, opening Charlotte’s journey up to readers who want to read a smart and entertaining book of a woman's ever-widening experience of existence.

The Soul's Reckoning by Shireen Anne Jeejeebhoy continues Charlotte Elisabeth's journey after her medically assisted death. Instead of disappearing from existence, she wakes up in a layered afterlife where she must confront the personal challenges she avoided in life. Guided by her "soul family" and various animal friends, she visits numerous captivating realms. During her quest, Charlotte Elisabeth learns more about how the afterlife works. She also meets other souls with their own struggles and inner turmoil. This inspires her to reconsider her choices and the relationships she left behind. Much of the story follows her attempts to understand her place in this new world as she begins her own slow journey to healing. Will she accept the path that lies before her, or will she try to run away from it again?

In The Soul's Reckoning, Shireen Anne Jeejeebhoy delivers a thoughtful view of life after death. The narrative presents Charlotte Elisabeth's journey in a way that encourages honest reflection on themes such as life, death, and personal choices. I love how the author depicts death not as the end of life, but as its continuation in a different form. This gave the story an interesting direction. Charlotte Elisabeth's reluctance to face her past, along with the gentle pressure of her guides, made the journey feel relatable and emotionally deep. I found the concept of "unfinished business" after death particularly fascinating, because it shows how healing can follow us throughout life until we finally meet and accept it. Overall, The Soul's Reckoning is a thought-provoking tale of courage and connection that will stay with me forever. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Christian fantasy novels.

The Soul's Reckoning by Shireen Anne Jeejeebhoy is a moving story about the afterlife that continues Charlotte Elisabeth's journey after choosing to die using MAiD (Medical Assistance in Dying). Charlotte has overcome the tricks of the dark Distortans in Hell Track, and now she finds herself in a heavenly realm of her making, with gray skies and pink daisies. Her guides help her understand that her next step is to reconcile with her family. Charlotte has a view of her childhood home, learning the tragic story of the lion head trophy in their house that scared her. She visits her half-sisters, Sincerity and Sally, and she gets to discover disappointing truths about their lives. With the help of her guides, Charlotte begins to learn about her new form, sends love to her family and friends, and reconciles with them on her Soul Track. But a group of persistent ghosts follows her around, trying to plant seeds of hate and unforgiveness in her heart.

The Soul's Reckoning is quite an eye-opener, highlighting crucial parts of the Christian journey that are often misunderstood or discarded. Shireen Anne Jeejeebhoy talks about the nature of heaven, free will, God's love, and the importance of praying and having a personal relationship with Him. The story also touches on the medical system that concentrates more on saving money and making a profit instead of providing care. Charlotte’s death is sad and could have been avoided, just like many others. This harsh reality leaves families in pain and inconsolable. The narration is very detailed with vivid descriptions of places, sounds, and characters. Jeejeebhoy uses Charlotte's experience on the Soul Track to educate readers about Jesus Christ, the Christian journey, and life after death. The combination of Bible verses and fiction makes this an engaging read that you will not want to put down. I truly enjoyed reading this book and hope to read the next book in this series. Overall, this is an informative and reflective read.

The Soul's Reckoning by Shireen Anne Jeejeebhoy is the second book in The Q'Zam'Ta Trilogy, which follows the afterlife journey of Charlotte Elisabeth. After opting to end her life through euthanasia at the Dying with Dignity Suite at a Toronto hospital, Charlotte does not find rest in her afterlife. Having had no exposure to the church and the Christian faith, which her mother forbade, Charlotte starts learning about the error in her ways. She tries to run at first, but soon learns that she has to face her family to reconcile to pass through the Soul's Track. She attends Heaven School, meets those she left behind, like her half-sisters and her father, during a segment called storytelling time. Charlotte forms a family with her guides, who support her through her journey and teach her about prayer and God’s love. Finally, she gets to meet Jesus and learns about resurrection and embracing her new life.

Shireen Anne Jeejeebhoy’s The Soul's Reckoning is a captivating story that explores the afterlife and family connections. Charlotte is a blank page when it comes to Christianity and the gospel. She has spent her entire life not knowing about God’s amazing love. Many readers will get an opportunity to learn about God alongside her through this story. Both nonbelievers and believers will appreciate the lessons in this book and get a chance to reflect on their spiritual life and standing with God. I loved the characters because they give an authentic reflection of everyday people. Charlotte’s sisters, Sincerity and Sally, all have flaws that they try to hide from the world, and carry trauma from their mother controlling them. The story covers themes of redemption, belonging, and free will, showing the importance of making good choices, and also delves into the second death in Christ, which brings renewal. This is a compelling read and a great choice for anyone who loves reading Christian fiction about life after death.

The Soul's Reckoning by Shireen Anne Jeejeebhoy follows Charlotte Elizabeth as she wakes up in the afterlife after choosing Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) to end her life. She thinks she is heading into blissful silence, but instead she enters a structured spiritual world where healing still matters. Charlotte meets guides, loved ones, and other souls who show her how this new place operates. She learns about prayer, personal growth, and the pieces of her life she left unsettled while she was still alive. The majority of her experiences center on the family issues she avoided while still alive back on Earth. Charlotte's spiritual quest includes crucial lessons and truths from her past that she must confront once and for all. Will she accept the work she needs to do to move forward?

Shireen Anne Jeejeebhoy's The Soul's Reckoning blends intriguing spiritual concepts with everyday emotional struggles. The author keeps the pace steady and the plot easy to follow. Nothing in the story is ever rushed, and Charlotte’s reactions are emotional and convincing—especially her hesitation and frustration after waking up in a new, mysterious world after death. The author treats the afterlife as another chance to grow, not a place to hide, and that gives the story a fascinating outlook. The author skillfully uses Charlotte’s journey to explore themes like reconciliation, unresolved emotional work, and the impact of family history. Readers who like thoughtful stories about healing and deep self-reflection will really appreciate the key message. Also, fans of Christian fantasy and speculative fiction will enjoy this captivating tale.
