The Stained Envelope: A Journey of Hope and Purpose by Aurelie Lien takes young readers on an exciting journey from the perspective of a special envelope. Flekk is excited for the adventure ahead when he finds himself selected for an important mission. But as time goes by, he soon realizes that the journey is more difficult than he could have imagined. With some help and encouragement along the way, Flekk is determined to complete his task and deliver the important message he contains. The story takes young readers along for the ride and introduces them to the process letters and packages go through to arrive safely at their intended address.
The Stained Envelope by Aurelie Lien is a delightful read. This entertaining story is filled with themes of encouragement, purpose, and perseverance as young Flekk sets out to deliver his letter. The author offers an entertaining story with an educational message beautifully woven in. Additionally, this inspiring story includes some questions at the end to encourage young readers to think about the story, and what the lessons mean to them. Russell Gunning’s colorful illustrations bring Flekk to life and make this a memorable and touching picture book parents and children can enjoy together. The creative and detailed images enhance the story as Flekk faces difficulties and setbacks on his long journey. Lien’s creative tale reminds children that Jesus has a special message for His children to carry throughout the world too; the message of who Jesus is and what He did for each of us.
