The Starre, the Moone, the Sunne is a work of historical fiction by award-winning writer, actor, director, and Shakespeare authorship researcher Ron Destro. Set in England around the early 1600s, this novel explores the authorship theory that Shakespeare was not the writer of the works attributed to him. When the workshop of Nicholas, a printer, is burned down, a document is revealed that his father hid twenty years before as he was led to his execution. Only fragments including the symbols of a star, a moon, and a sun and the name “W. Shakes-speare” survive the flames, but they inspire Nicholas to uncover their meaning. It will prove to be a deadly undertaking.
Fans of Shakespeare, hang onto your seats! In The Starre, the Moone, the Sunne, Ron Destro takes readers on an utterly compelling roller coaster ride that offers drama, suspense, and one surprise after another. Filled with a cast of characters that could grace a Shakespearean stage with brave heroes and dastardly villains, devoted fathers and talented sons, treacherous enemies, and star-crossed lovers, the well-paced narrative and action-packed plot bring the political and social complexity of the times to life. If you aren’t a fan of Shakespeare or could not care less who wrote his works, don’t let the title put you off. The Starre, the Moone, the Sunne by Ron Destro is an engaging, masterfully written mystery novel that stands on its own merits, delivering jaunty dialog, nail-biting drama, and a conspiracy that reaches the English throne.
