The Student Prophet: Going Home, by James Nicholas Logue, is the final book in the Student Prophet trilogy and picks up where New Partners left off. Once again we join Prophet Jeff Fitzpatrick. It was his 50th birthday and he knew his family was planning a surprise birthday treat for him. He was on a beach but had no idea how he got there or why. He wondered if he was dreaming. Memories from the last thirty years returned to him as though he was reliving them. Not all of the memories were so pleasant, such as the death of his son. Guardian Angel Ralph, aka Raphael, blamed himself for the loss. From the beach he mysteriously journeys to the railings of a cruise ship a year later. Jeff could not relive his life without once again experiencing attacks made by an evil archangel called the Leader and his sidekick Adam. While the Leader sees the opportunity to renew attacks against Jeff, he overlooks one major obstacle…rebellion among his own followers.
I have enjoyed all of The Student Prophet trilogy and The Student Prophet: Going Home certainly did not disappoint me. I recommend reading them in order but this book does stand alone. The reader will ponder this tale long after they close the book. The characters are well done and fascinating. There are four sections to this book: The Beginning, Africa, Growing Dissent, and Into The Future. I found the end to be unique and thoroughly satisfying. I look forward to more books by this author.
