The Twelve-Step Plan is a romantic comedy written by Erin Brady. Dr. Sadie Rollins has defied all the odds in managing her academic career. She completed her doctorate in marketing when she was only 27 years old and is now on the tenure track at a prestigious private college. If only she could get her personal life managed half as well. Unlike her best friend Charlotte Reed, who's got a husband who cooks, and twin sons, Sadie's relationships with the opposite sex have not been matches made in heaven. Then inspiration strikes as she's channel-surfing and pauses at a telenovela. Her eyes are drawn to the hips of the hot man whose salsa dancing is effortless and oh, so sensual. His name is X, and a quick search on Google shows him in a dazzling assortment of photos and videos. All Sadie has to do to make this man hers is to channel her professional persona and set up a 12-step plan to do just that.

Erin Brady's romantic comedy, The Twelve-Step Plan, is smart and classy and very well-written. Sadie's obsessive interest in a mega-star seems no different than that of the thousands of other adoring fans, but she's convinced she's got that something that's going to make a difference. The Twelve-Step Plan is written in the first-person, no easy feat for an author to sustain, but, in doing so, Brady makes this tale truly Sadie's story and it zings with enthusiasm and zaniness throughout. Sadie's battle of the signs with the pushy and equally determined blond bimbo, Candy Tart, is classic high comedy, and her defiance of her straight-laced Dean at her college will make readers want to cheer. Then there's the romantic tension, which is everything one could ask for in a sophisticated and believable fairy tale romance. I smiled as I read this book, except that is, when I wasn't chuckling. It's a marvelously written and very human story that works on a number of levels. The Twelve-Step Plan is most highly recommended.

In The Twelve-Step Plan by Erin Brady, Sadie is a successful college professor. She worked hard to get where she is at such a young age. Even though her professional life is exactly where she wants it, her personal life needs a change, and she thinks that change is going to happen through her obsession with X, the very famous pop star. She is determined to meet him, have him fall in love with her, and live happily ever after. So, she comes up with a twelve-step plan that she is sure will work and will lead her to her dream guy. But, as usually happens with plans, things don’t exactly go as expected.

Now, don’t judge Sadie just yet. She may be completely obsessed with a celebrity, but don’t we all have our obsessions? We can all relate to Sadie in some way, which is why I liked her so much. She was so ridiculous at times and I wanted to knock some sense into her, but I could understand where she was coming from. No matter what people think of you and your crazy dreams, you go for them. Who knows? You might get everything you wanted and be ecstatically happy for the rest of your life. Or you could go down a different path from what you initially intended and end up even happier than you ever thought possible. And it was fun witnessing Sadie go after her dreams and seeing where she ends up. With a ridiculously entertaining plot, an equally relatable and comical main character, many laugh-out-loud moments, and an ending that was absolute perfection, The Twelve-Step Plan is a must-read. Erin Brady has done it again. More please!

The Twelve-Step Plan by Erin Brady is an obsessive ride all about desire, angst, and zany hilarity. Sadie is smart. She wouldn't have gotten to be a professor at an esteemed university without her brains. It's just too bad that those brains fail to serve her well when it comes to her new obsession, Xavier. He's everything she's ever dreamed of but he doesn't even know she exists. In her desperation, Sadie creates the 12-step plan to make him notice her and fall madly in love. Prepare for lots of laughs, some definite eye rolling, and possibly a happily ever after with The Twelve Step Plan!

Sadie was an odd creature. On one hand, she was frighteningly relatable due to some of her proclivities, witty snark, and general zaniness. However, the fact that she was really one of the creepiest stalkers that I've seen was a little strange to get behind and support. She sees Xavier ... or X ... as a complete and total Adonis, someone she can't get out of her mind and REALLY wants in her bed. She had a pretty funny personality, very dry and cynical in her sarcasm, which a lot of people love in their heroines. The Twelve Step plan is hilarious. It's got a lot of wacky comedy moments, self-deprecating humor and belly laughs. The story line is simple, but fun, and it flows with a great pace from the start of the story right up to the ending. You will enjoy the characters, the fun, and the story!
