The War Of The Beast Trilogy by Robert G. Culp incorporates three novels titled Knight School, Fugitives of Destiny, and The Trinity. Knight School introduces the characters of Jason Gardner, Julie Brooks, Nara Roman, Barry Dickenson, and Kevin Tyson. Their bond as mystic brats includes a form of love- triangle between Jason, Julie, and Nara. The teenagers are mentored by dragon master Kirk Louis. The school is under attack and they fight off several waves of enemies. In Fugitives of Destiny, the brats seek refuge in Aria, Nara’s magical homeland, with Queen Eviane. They face attacks from wraiths and suffer trials in the pit. Nara and Julie have performed an illegal body swap enabling Nara to sacrifice her soul and sever the binding of the Lunar Necklace which threatens all their lives but they are tricked into releasing the beast. Finally, in The Trinity, they become Arthurian as they encounter iterations of themselves from other times and parts of the multiverse and discover they must survive Lancelot’s memories and escape from stories.

The War Of The Beast Trilogy offers around 700 pages of non-stop young adult fantasy adventure. Robert G. Culp's characterization of the mystic brats gives each teenager a range of strengths and flaws and uses romantic plotlines that prove Jason and Julie’s love to be true, as well as Kirk and Mary’s. I especially enjoyed the character of Kirk after he regains his memory and uncovers his relationships with the other characters and was pleased when his powers evolved and changed. It is admirable how the destinies of the characters could be changed and were not predestined. I had to concentrate on following the change of speaker in the different journal entries but I appreciated all the perspectives offered. The War Of The Beast Trilogy is packed full of incidents and thrilling events, ensuring there is something dangerous and exciting happening on every page.
