Under Fire by Rachel Amphlett is a winner. The main character is Dan Taylor who, along with his team, has to prevent a planned terrorist attack. When a natural gas facility in the Middle East is in danger of being destroyed, a cruise ship in the Mediterranean is blown up and a submarine is stolen, David, Dan and Mitch are called upon to save the day. Dan Taylor is not happy to have Antonia, the Sheik’s daughter, added to the group as a strong fighter and a computer expert, but they soon find themselves working together and becoming more than just team mates. The group is forced to rescue a kidnapped man, find the submarine, and face danger and terror way too often.

This fictional story could very easily be happening right now in real life. The many twists and turns and ‘Oh My Gosh’ moments will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the book. The characters jumped off the page and pulled me along on in their thriller adventure. Rachel Amphlett has given us Dan Taylor and a series that is headed to the top of the class. It reminded me of Clive Cussler’s books starring Dirk Pitt who is a hero to many. This was the second book but I did not know it until I was finished and it didn’t matter at all. Under Fire is a standalone sensation. This is a book you will have no regrets staying up nights to finish because it is a sure-fire winner.
