Weapons of Choice is a short story anthology featuring works by various authors, each contributing a tale with a robust female lead. In Plenty of Ammunition by Deb Collins, Abby's manipulative relationship with a married FBI agent leads to deadly consequences. Deadly Evidence by Sonja Dewing follows an investigation into genetically modified, radioactive bugs. In Misdirection by Pat McGregor, Magnolia Mbele investigates food poisoning linked to amanita mushrooms. The Cairn's Curse by Michelle Tennant Nicholson recounts a road trip interrupted by the disturbance of a sacred cairn. What Satisfies Hunger by Amy Rivers explores Sharon's traumatic past and strained relationship with her sister. Winterovers by Kara Smith reveals a shock invasion strategy at a South Pole station, and Good for the Game by Ursula Vogt centers on a woman seeking revenge aboard a private gambling yacht.

Weapons of Choice: ThrillHers Anthology - Stories of Strong Women by Sonja Dewing et al. is a wonderful collection that showcases the immense talent of various authors, each offering a unique, stand-alone thriller. The writing in each story is crisp and wholly singular in the writer's clear voice, pulling readers into their tales. I began thinking I'd just read one or two before lights out on a Sunday evening and ended up finishing them all, much to the detriment of my co-workers who were stuck with my lack of sleep crankiness the next day. Kara Smith’s story Winterovers is my personal favorite, where journalist Alice's descent has a chilling atmosphere that is textured to the point of cinematic and a fantastic science fiction twist to the traditional changeling lore. Overall, this anthology delivers solid storytelling, with every author proving their skill at creating electrifying suspense and memorable heroines. It’s a must-read for fans of thrilling, fast-paced, and unforgettable tales. Very highly recommended.
