Tag the donkey is enlisted in the important job of helping Joseph get Mary to Bethlehem in time for her baby's birth, but he is hesitant about leaving his home. He has so many questions about what’s going on and is stubborn about wanting to help. He ends up carrying Mary on the long journey, although he isn’t sure he can do it at first. When they get to Bethlehem, Tag is ready to go home, but then he meets baby Jesus after his birth, and everything changes. We're Going Where? by Charles B. Carson tells the Christmas story from a perspective we may not have considered before!
Perfect for the Christmas season, We’re Going Where? is both an entertaining and educational story that touches the heart and shares what Christmas is all about. The illustrations throughout the pages were cute and fun to look at, and I enjoyed getting to see a new version of the Christmas story played out in a more visual format. Tag was also an interesting character. He was relatable in a way, questioning what he didn’t know and being hesitant to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with. But, in the end, he followed what he was called to do, and it was amazing for him. This book would make a great gift for children who are still learning about the celebration of Jesus’ birth and want to read this lovely story side by side with their families on Christmas day. Overall, We're Going Where? by Charles B. Carson was a great read that I would recommend!
