When Lovers Meet by Angel Ray is the story of Vanessa Calla, a former lawyer, and Dalton Ewing, a mysterious bouncer with a troubled past. Their story begins after Dalton rescues Vanessa from a threatening situation. As their relationship deepens, they share their vulnerabilities and past hurts, revealing the emotional baggage they both carry. Vanessa was scarred by her ex-husband's betrayal and her father's abandonment of her mother. Now, she seeks to prove to Dalton that love doesn't always lead to devastation. Dalton, haunted by his own painful experiences, struggles to let go of his emotional barriers. The couple navigates their fears and insecurities in pursuit of a love that challenges their deeply ingrained sense of self-protection. But will they give love a chance? Can Vanessa let go of the past and embrace the future? Will Dalton open his heart to love?
Angel Ray created a great romance novel that explores themes of trust, vulnerability, and healing. The chemistry between Vanessa and Dalton blew me away. I loved how their intimate moments were depicted with sensuality and emotional depth. Both the protagonists had a troubled past that they were trying to release. While their pasts did give Vanessa and Dalton a foundation for their connection, they had to work hard to overcome that and find a new rhythm. The pacing is relatively quick, focusing primarily on developing their romantic connection. The fast pace, the character development, and the overall feel of the story were fantastic. This was a great pick-me-up story, and I enjoyed it immensely!
