Where Is Smelly Ann Skunk? is written and illustrated by Christianne Thillen and Janet Hill. The forest frogs were supposed to be keeping an eye on Smelly Ann Skunk but somehow managed to let her slip out of sight. Afraid that Mama Skunk would be angry and worried about where the little skunk could be, the forest frogs began searching for her. The frogs and several other forest animals pitched in to look for her until they finally spotted her in a very dangerous place. How will they get Smelly Ann Skunk safely back on the ground? Can the beaver chew her free, can the bear climb up and carry her down to safety or can they form a forest animal ladder for the little skunk to climb down? Will they come up with an idea that will not harm the little skunk or anyone else?
Where Is Smelly Ann Skunk? is an adorable children’s picture book that will easily keep a child’s attention as they read about how Smelly Ann Skunk’s friends are searching for her. I love how the forest animals work together using a team effort to rescue the little skunk. The illustrations are beautifully done so that kids can follow along when someone is reading to them. I recommend Where Is Smelly Ann Skunk to anyone with children who like reading about a fun forest adventure where teamwork and caring about others is an essential part of survival. I hope that Christianne Thillen and Janet Hill team up for future books that deliver an entertaining story along with important life skills that are easy for kids to understand.
