The outstanding illustrations in Who Laid The Egg? will attract readers who’ll want to know which eggs were laid by which animal. Author Audrey Sauble has created a wonderful, but simple story of animals and the eggs they lay. Who Laid The Egg? is a children’s early science book. Each page shows different kinds of eggs or different animals that lay eggs. Can you guess what animal laid the egg? On each page you’ll see a different animal that does lay eggs and you can see what the eggs look like. Oviparous animals are animals that lay eggs. This includes most fish, amphibians, reptiles, all birds, and the monotremes. The frog's eggs look much different than the ostrich’s egg.

Who Laid The Egg? is a children’s picture book for ages 0 – 3. Author Audrey E. Sauble has written and illustrated the easy-to-read book of animal pictures. The illustrations are outstanding. The beautiful, realistic renderings will introduce children to a familiar farm animal like a chicken and exotic marine animals like a platypus. And of course, throw in a dinosaur to interest boys and girls. The book also includes a bonus: you can go onto the author’s website for coloring pages. Perhaps parents and teachers can add an interactive component: how big is the frog’s egg? How big is a dinosaur egg? Are the eggs laid on land or in the water? Which animal is the biggest? Whose eggs are the biggest? After reading this book with children, you’ll want to take them to a zoo or aquarium.
