Wicca 101 Compendium by Ken Hooker provides an interesting, easy-to-read overview of the Wiccan craft or ideology, giving the readers both basic and advanced information as they move into their individual or group practice. The author begins with the various traditions that one can find within covens - groups of people who work together energetically on their spiritual journey and who have the same or similar beliefs. He then dives deeper into the many parts that go into the practice from how to ground oneself, what divination is, how to create a sacred space, altar-building, and much more. Through each part of this helpful and well-written book, the author maintains a stance of open-mindedness and explains the many varieties within each of the methodologies introduced, not promoting one way over another. This will be vital for the new practitioner.
Wicca 101 Compendium by Ken Hooker is a moving and powerful look at the many parts of the Wiccan belief. As a reader who knew nothing about Wicca, I walked away with a thorough foundational understanding of the practices, processes, and principles within the craft. The author does a great job covering each detail and giving the reader permission and the space to explore what feels authentic to them. He covers both the history and the future of Wicca with care and positivity, inviting the seasoned believers to review the basics anew and allowing the novice to gain enough information to feel confident moving forward into the craft.
