"You = Love," written by Tricia Klinkhamer, illustrated by Dean Cercone and edited by Kara Keffer, is a children's concept book focusing on the concept that each person can show love to others. This book is filled with images and statements about love and about how love can be shown to others and how love impacts individuals, others around us and the world in general. Love is shown by being helpful, and through smiles and being happy. Love power can heal, create harmony between people and warm hearts as well as provide the power to be patient and listen to others. Love wins and is a cure for hate and turns mistakes into something great.

This is an interesting concept book for children. I read through it a couple of times to really take it all in as there is so much to this book! Although this is a children's book, I think it is a great book for adults to read through as well because it is a great reminder for everyone about how little acts of kindness and just the vibe that each of us gives off in interactions in our daily lives can make a huge difference. I also think this would be a great book to use in schools with an anti-bullying program as it encourages kindness, and replacing fear and hate with love. This is a book that should be found on every school counselor's bookshelf and one that is shared frequently.

I introduced You=Love coloring books to my 1st grade class. The kids loved having their own coloring book. They also enjoyed discussing the pictures on each page and sharing their coloring pages with one another. We discussed that "you equal love" simply means, you ARE love. The children talked about how coloring is calming, and after each coloring session in class we discussed ideas like fairness, sharing, and loving each other.
