Your Best Practices For Rental Management Success by Bradley N. Meyer is a very useful book for anyone interested in learning about rental property management. It deals with a variety of topics and offers a comprehensive but concise guide to managing rental properties. Bradley Meyer has summarized years of experience in this book and gives useful recommendations for many aspects of rental management.
An interesting theme of the book is that of managing expectations. Meyer explains that the business is about this, and that in understanding the different personality types of managers and tenants, you can be more aware of who you are and what your goals are, and what type of tenant would ideally be compatible with your expectations. Another theme is getting into the mindset of an investor and treating your property as an asset. These important factors serve to prime the reader at the start of the book.
The second section of the book features a step by step guide to rental management. The third section deals with protecting and capitalizing on the investment. Throughout the book, each chapter begins with a few bullet points on what to expect in the chapter, and also ends with a short summary list of the points covered. In addition to this, the style of the author is very clear, intuitive and direct and, taken together, these approaches made the book very easy to understand, relate to and appreciate. I highly recommend this book for anyone involved in rental management or even for people who are not convinced of being able to manage rental property, but are looking for an honest guide which can help to dispel their fears regarding becoming a rental investor.
