In 101 Questions from The Big U to You, Dr. Judith Sherven says human life is participation in a shared universal consciousness she calls “The Big U.” Sherven talks about how people spend their lives shrinking themselves to fit expectations learned early in life until they begin believing those limits define who they are. Through daily questions written in the voice of this larger universal force, Sherven encourages readers to examine the way they speak to themselves, the way they respond when opportunities appear, the way they react to praise, and the way they decide whether they deserve happiness or fulfillment. Among these are questions like Number 20, How are You doing with loving people different from You?, Number 55, What will You commit to being more of today?, and Number 86, If You were Your favorite flavor of ice cream, gelato, or frozen yogurt, what flavor would You be? And why?

Dr. Judith Sherven’s 101 Questions From The Big U To You frames the universal consciousness as speaking directly to the reader through daily questions intended to reshape how a person understands spiritual participation in everyday life. It was amazing to me how Sherven's work is totally relevant and important right now. In the current cultural climate, Number 42 treats disagreement as an opportunity for spiritual listening. Instead of rewarding certainty, the book asks readers to approach another person’s beliefs with sincere curiosity and patient attention. I love it. It was honestly exactly what I needed. The writing is genuinely uplifting, conversational in style, and highly approachable. There is no question that this is a spiritual book. It is in the first person, straight from The Big U, and questions like Number 11, where prayer becomes an active exercise, and Number 91, which describes self-limitation as separation from divine connection, are deeply metaphysical. Readers looking for unique devotional practice and spiritual discussion will adore this, as I have. Very highly recommended.
