Jory Perry's children's story is a fun, engaging, and delightful read. The Tail That Told the Truth follows a young fox named Felix who lives in the heart of the Whispering Woods. He learns the consequences of lying the hard way and discovers the benefits of telling the truth. Felix believes he is very clever. Whatever he says, everyone around him believes him and trusts him, for now. But one morning, he lies to his mother, and then something strange happens to a part of his body; something about him changes. But it doesn't stop him from lying to his friends either. However, Felix no longer feels so clever and feels too exposed when everyone in the forest notices the change. Now he must tell the truth to his mother and his friends or avoid everyone.
The Tail That Told the Truth is a beautifully illustrated, charming picture book. I absolutely adored this story by Jory Perry that teaches children about being brave and honest. Felix is an adorable little fox that will charm all young readers. This superb little book helps readers understand the power of honesty and the importance of taking responsibility for their actions. It shows that mistakes are part of learning and growing, that even little lies can feel heavy, and that admitting the truth will make you feel good, thus encouraging you to do the right thing even when it feels difficult or scary. Parents interested in a wonderful, cute story that gently teaches youngsters meaningful lessons should have this book in their homes.
