As someone who studies my Bible daily, I often find it hard to digest, so when I started reading this book, my expectations was of a scholarly book that just might put me to sleep. Well, instead of that I felt as if I had stumbled onto a lively discussion about one of my favorite topics: The Bible! Mr. Ward's casual writing style makes the reader feel at ease and allows for an easy and enjoyable reading experience. Yet even in his casualness it is obvious that Mr. Ward is well-versed in the Bible and the topics he is discussing. While he does state his opinion, he pairs that opinion with scriptures so that the reader can turn to their Bible for deeper understanding.

Because the author deals with issues such as "who is God?," and "why should we believe the Bible is God's word?," this book would be perfect for someone who wants to know more about God and his word. A more seasoned Christian will also find this book an interesting read because of the topics the author has covered. Overall, Mr. Ward has provided a down to earth, easy to understand book that helps explain the Bible and God's plan for salvation. Whether the reader agrees with everything the author says or not, "A Conservative's Primer on the Bible" will have the reader thinking about God's word and perhaps about where they want to spend eternity.

Bob Ward does a wonderful job of helping the reader move along the pages of this book to understand the purpose, power and spirit of the Bible. His main point is that you must believe the Bible entirely; if not nothing within his book will truly make sense. Bob begins by proving the Bible and its importance. When that foundation is laid, he continues to explore different features such as God's people, the need for salvation, how the Church functions, and some comparisons.

"A Conservative's Primer on the Bible" is a very well-written book that many would enjoy reading and being stretched by. Every point that Bob makes he backs up with verses of Scripture to indicate that he isn't just putting words to paper; rather he has a reason for writing what he does and emphasizes his beliefs and views for his readers. This book may not be for everyone; for instance,it is not for those who dispute the importance and soundness of the Bible. But this is a book that the believer should read to help them remain strong and faithful in their beliefs. I appreciate the convictions of Bob and how he is willing to share his views and do so with strong emphasis. Wouldn't you rather support someone stands for what they feel is the truth than to never take a stand at all? I do and therefore I believe this is a fine book and one worth the reader’s time and attention.
