Adam's Cape is a children's fantasy adventure novel by Kaitlyn Dorroh. Eight-year-old Kaitlyn is excited to spend the summer at her aunt's house with her cousin, Adam. After a trip to the beach, Kaitlyn and Adam find themselves transported to Ocracoke Island, where they meet the swaggering Captain Green-Eyed Pirate. Captain Green-Eyed tells the cousins that his crew and treasure were captured by his nemesis Captain Billy Tooth. He also introduces them to his superheroes and asks them to join his mission to rescue his crew and retrieve his stolen treasure. When Kaitlyn is kidnapped and taken to Captain Billy Tooth, Adam comes to her rescue. Now, the cousins must help Captain Green-Eyed battle Billy Tooth in a final confrontation. But first, Kaitlyn must learn to use her gadgets and take advantage of her special glasses.

Kaitlyn, Adam, and Captain Green-Eyed are all vibrant characters with distinct personalities that shine through the pages. The illustrations by Alyson J. Record are the icing on the cake and make the story all the more immersive. Recommended to all adventure lovers.
