Author Biography

Ashley currently lives in Maine, with her husband Scott and their six children. They also have three parakeets, fish and a Newfoundland pup named Bella. Their house and hearts are full! As a family, they enjoy playing board games, hiking and snuggling in front of the fire for family movie and pizza night. Most nights you will find them at one sports complex or another cheering on the kids in hockey, soccer, wrestling, basketball, baseball and ballet! Ashley loves watching her kids in anything they do!

Things are always pretty busy; but in her not so spare time, Ashley loves to cook, bake, read, sew and crochet, as well as the occasional home improvement project.

Ashley started writing books for her children and they loved them so much that they wanted to share their books with the world.

Hopefully your children enjoy these stories as much as her children do.

Adam's Favorite Things by Ashley Hohmann follows Adam and his Creepy Crawly Animal ABCs. Adam’s love for reptiles and creepy crawlies shows in this alphabetical journey through the world of reptiles, spiders, insects, and amphibians. Every letter of the alphabet has a different creature with fun facts for kids to learn. Kids will learn about what they eat, where they live, how long they live, and much more. Join Adam as he takes you on a special, educational, but enjoyable journey through the natural kingdom.

Adam’s Favorite Things by Ashley Hohmann offers kids the chance to learn all about the world of herpetology—reptiles and amphibians to you and me—and all things insects. Each page is one letter of the alphabet, detailing a creature with facts about it, and followed by a cute illustration, so kids can see what they look like. Youngsters will learn about lots of different and unusual creatures—some I’d never heard of before, too. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and readers will understand what each creature needs to survive and thrive in the natural world. Books like this are not just fun to read but wholly educational, too, and they should have a place in every child’s library and in schools. Teaching kids about these creatures goes a long way toward teaching respect for them and their habitat. It’s hoped that they’ll learn enough to help protect animals in the future; after all, young readers hold the future of the world in their hands. Highly recommended reading for all youngsters and their teachers, and caregivers.
