Aquarius: A Hypers Novel by Rebecca Rock is a compelling sci-fi read with phenomenal characters. Their parents left to get supplies but never returned, leaving them in the cold and unforgiving world of the Normals. Meet Cloud, Star, Sky, Star, Rain, Luna and Storm, all siblings who escaped the Romarch with their parents in the starship Aquarius, seeking a safe place, but now left as orphans, they spend their days hiding from Normals who can’t understand their kind — the Hypers. Follow them in their adventurous journey as they seek a place that is safe for them, and as they set out in search of their parents after losing them; an endeavor fraught with wonderful discoveries and deadly challenges. Watch as they journey under the watchful eye of the Authorities, and as they meet with an ally whose motives could be just as dangerous as they could be benevolent. Can they find a safe haven to hide or will they stand up against what could destroy them?

Rebecca Rock is a great storyteller and she begins this galactic tale in the midst of a conflict, animated by interesting conversations. The reader doesn’t have to wait long to be introduced to her characters. It is wonderful that these characters with human attributes are modeled after heavenly bodies and elements of nature. I was pulled in by the powerful plot lines and the author’s awesome prose, which reveal a highly imaginative mind at work. The characters are well-sculpted; they are well-explored and memorable. Aquarius: A Hypers Novel is action-packed and laced with riveting and interesting moments. This is an exciting and an utterly entertaining tale that will have fans of sci-fi smitten.
