Bound to a Devil: Devil Family, Book 1 by Christie Silvers follows Carina, a half-angel, who struggles with nightmares of her own death every single night. Unable to handle the night terrors, she tries everything possible to get at least one night's rest, including sneaking down to Earth and indulging in alcohol and drugs. Only instead of helping, Carina’s escapades on Earth lead her straight to Hell, literally. Carina must now go down to Hell as part of the Angel Delegation to be the concubine to Davon, the Devil's third son.
Bound to a Devil by Christie Silvers was such an enjoyable read for me for multiple reasons, the first being the plot which I found to be unique and so entertaining. I loved the various aspects given to the realm of Angels and Devils and how they operate in a similar way to humans but on their own terms. It made the characters a lot more relatable and allowed me, as the reader, to sympathize more with what they were going through. The pacing was also well done, considering everything that happens, and I feel that Silvers found the balance between the timing within the narrative and the actual pacing for the book. The reader is given enough information to understand the way this world works as the plot unfolds, and it is neither too wordy nor lacking in any way. Overall, I think Bound to a Devil is a well-rounded book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I can definitely see myself reading more works by Christie Silvers.
