Lisa Collins already had her hands full negotiating with a top gallery to display her artworks. Still, when her friend Olive presents her with the getaway of a lifetime—a fully funded trip to the Hawaiian Islands—she cannot refuse. The package is part of her duties as Olive's chief bridesmaid. Olive sets her up with the best man, Tom Jeffreys, a successful architect. Tom is everything Lisa wants in a man, but can she allow herself to become involved in another whirlwind romance, or will the secrets from her past destroy any chance of a happy ending for the aspiring artist? Only time will tell in Rhonda Boehm's Buddy Moon.
Buddy Moon is the latest installment in Rhonda Boehm's City of Grove series. The character development is detailed and focuses on fleshing out extensive origin stories for the principal characters with whom readers can easily relate. She succeeds in this for Lisa and Tom. The believable banter between them highlights their mutual interest in the arts, smoothly setting the mood for romance aficionados to enjoy the entertaining verbal jousting. The leisurely pace makes it easy for readers to follow the narrative and enjoy Tom's courtship technique. The romantic scenes are vivid, leaving very little to the imagination. Boehm's preference for inserting entertaining subplots based on the couple's shenanigans, such as the jellyfish incident, creates the perfect adventure with a good share of drama, excitement, and secrets that will keep romance readers glued to this story from start to finish.
