What a wonderful way to remind children of things they can do while they quarantine! Bunk the Chipmunk’s Quarantine Story is a story that needs to be told—right now! We need this book to go viral online to students and parents as quickly as possible. This sweet rhyming story of a chipmunk that is forced to stay home during a pandemic is so timely. Children and parents will like the subtle reminders they should practice during a virus. I believe this story will help children understand the pandemic that is keeping them from participating in their favorite activities. During a time when we feel a need to take control of something—anything—in our lives, this book offers suggestions of what children can do to keep busy.

The full-page color images in Bunk the Chipmunk’s Quarantine Story are bright and imaginative. I love how the chipmunk has a sink made from a stump. Children will like the creative illustrations that draw them into the book. Teachers and parents could engage children after reading the story with questions such as: How would a child draw a chipmunk’s home? What activities do you think chipmunks would do? What activities can you do while you stay at home? I think homes, schools, and public libraries will benefit by putting this book on their shelf. Children are still wondering why they didn’t go to school, why can’t they go to a public swimming pool, or why can’t they go to a friend’s house. This book should help children understand that it’s not hard to stay home.

Bunk the Chipmunk is living with the current pandemic, as are all children throughout the world. While never using the name of the virus, or using the word pandemic, he talks about how to cope with having to stay at home. Bunk gives advice on how to stay safe and well, including washing hands, sneezing on your arm, and social distancing. While the importance of wearing a mask is not included in the poem, it is illustrated. Additionally, Bunk talks about a child’s experience of not going to school but having Mom and Dad be the teachers. He also recommends that children stay in touch with friends and find creative ways to spend time. In Bunk the Chipmunk’s Quarantine Story, author Victor Teran writes a poem about the challenging childhood experience during the present time.

The author’s mastery of the rhyming lyrics will certainly appeal to children – and to the parents who are reading this book out loud to them. This book can be a wonderful tool for parents to discuss a child’s emotions about the difficulties of necessary changes in their daily lives. While some information may have changed in the past few months, such as the virus disappearing in the spring, this provides an opportunity for more discussion. The illustrations in this children’s book are stunning, especially Bunk’s home in a tree trunk. Him building an airplane, complete with a pilot’s outfit, may stimulate a child’s imagination. Author Victor Teran has crafted a captivating children’s book in Bunk the Chipmunk’s Quarantine Story. A beautiful way for parents of young children to assist them through these times!

In Bunk the Chipmunk's Quarantine Story by Victor Teran, Bunk the Chipmunk is finding it extremely difficult to find exciting things to do at home during quarantine. But then he discovers the situation is quite fun because he can do all his normal activities in a new and exciting way. Bunk can still keep in touch with everyone he loves, he can still play and enjoy the outdoors. Bunk can also learn new skills while keeping up with his school work. Bunk offers the best advice for keeping safe during quarantine and he promises that although times seem difficult right now, everyone is going through the same experience and before you know it, life will return to normal. When quarantine is over and you return to your daily life, Bunk wants you to know that you will be fine and safe to have lots of fun once again.

I loved the inspiring and optimistic message throughout Bunk the Chipmunk's Quarantine Story by Victor Teran. I imagine in these trying times, children of all ages will relate to the emotions felt by Bunk. There are many discussion points throughout, enhanced by colorful and vibrant illustrations, encouraging children to look at the quarantine period as an opportunity to try new hobbies and experiences. The suggestion for children to take the trash out as a way to get some fresh air was hilarious and a great idea. The constant reassurance that all will be fine in the future will be a fantastic comfort to young readers with explanations on how you can keep yourself safe with great illustrations on cleanliness. The fun rhyming style of the book is perfect for young children to read along with an adult. The final illustration was a perfect reminder that this is an issue everyone across the world is dealing with.

Bunk the Chipmunk's Quarantine Story is an animal/concept picture book for preschool children and grades k-3 written by Victor Teran. Bunk can’t get over what a difference a year makes! It’s so strange not to be able to go out and play or visit your friends. He wishes the virus would go away as it’s really ruining the fun for everyone. Staying home all the time is no substitute for being outdoors, rain or shine. But Bunk knows it’s got to be done, and he’s been figuring out loads of fun things to do at home. He’s also keeping up with schoolwork and keeping his hands washed and clean. Bunk shares important tips for when you’re outside, such as maintaining a 6-foot distance between yourself and others and not touching anything.

In Victor Teran’s Bunk the Chipmunk's Quarantine Story, Bunk shares with readers the craziness they are all experiencing with the coronavirus quarantine. While adults and teens have access to news and coronavirus reports, kids are often left in the dark, which can be confusing and upsetting. More so than most, kids’ lives have been completely uprooted. Having mom and dad home all the time (and often stressed about finances and health issues), and not being in school are major changes. They miss the social structure of school and their friends, and it may seem that this quarantine is going to last forever. I loved the upbeat and confident mood that Bunk conveys. He tells kids that they can get through this and assures them that it won’t last forever. He also gives them great ideas for all the at-home time. Bunk the Chipmunk's Quarantine Story goes a long way in letting kids know what’s happening with the coronavirus situation; it’s most highly recommended.

Victor Teran’s children’s book, Bunk the Chipmunk's Quarantine Story, contains helpful suggestions for children on how to make use of their time while in quarantine and explains how children can adopt safety measures during this time to protect themselves. Like everyone else, Bunk the Chipmunk is having a hard time adjusting to his new routine. Though he enjoys going out and spending time with his friends, due to the pandemic, he cannot go out anymore. Still, he has discovered many ways to be productive and have fun. Through the verses in the book, he shares that it is important to continue learning even while at home. He explains that taking trash out can be viewed as a chance to get out. Catching up with family and friends is another important activity during this period. Though times are challenging, Bunk is hopeful that things will get better soon.

In his book, Victor Teran develops a funny and wise character. Bunk is an entertaining character who loves playing and going out in the forest. Though he now feels restrained, he has developed creative ways to remain active and productive in his home. The story is timely and helpful to young and adult readers as it contains amazing suggestions accessible to anyone. Its lyrical verses employ features such as rhyme which makes them fun to read aloud. I loved that the book is colorful and its illustrations focus on the main character which makes the story easy to follow, especially for young readers. Bunk the Chipmunk's Quarantine Story by Victor Teran is a delightful and imaginative story that teaches children how to utilize their time in quarantine.
