Chasing Eveline is the story of sixteen-year-old Ivy Higgins, and how she has been coping with her mom abandoning their family two years prior. Growing up, music was a big part of Ivy’s childhood, in large part thanks to her mother, who shared her passion for music with her. Ivy discovers that as time passes she can no longer remember things clearly—what did her mom wear the last time they went out together? Was her mom wearing the brown or black coat at her piano recital? In an effort to retain the connection she felt with her mom through music, Ivy works against the odds to reunite the novel’s eponymous '80s band. She enlists her best friend Matt, a fellow indie music enthusiast, and together they embark on a journey of love, loss, friendship, and hope.
Music lovers unite! Author Leslie Hauser wrote a book that will truly speak to your soul. If a song has ever changed your life, even if just for a moment, you will be able to find yourself relating to Ivy and rooting for her cause, if for no other reason than to help her find the closure that she deserves. There are some bumps along the way, after all, reuniting a rock band in Ireland all the way from Indiana is no small task! Ivy and Matt make a new friend along the way, who helps them on their journey, and while the journey to Ireland is full of setbacks, it is one worth taking. Will Ivy and her friends be able to reunite the band? Will Ivy let go of the past so that she can embrace the present? For answers to these questions and more, you’ll have to pick up a copy of Chasing Eveline today.
