Christmas on Alpha Centauri: Raegan and RJ in Space is a comic book by Richard Collins that tells the story of five families from Hope, Tennessee, who left planet Earth to journey through space to a star system called Alpha Centauri. The sole purpose was to colonize the place for Christ and to be able to celebrate their first Christmas there. To accomplish this, they built a starship known as CSS Faith. Will they succeed in this daring venture? Join the people of Hope, Tennessee, on an amazing, record-breaking voyage into space. This work shows the determination, brilliance, and teamwork of people who have absolute faith in God and the wonders they can achieve if they put their minds to it.
The first thing that I enjoyed about Christmas on Alpha Centauri was the beautiful illustrations in the book. The colorful images by Jennifer Lusong do justice to the subject and give us a mental picture of the events. Another noteworthy aspect is the attention to detail. This is demonstrated by the efforts of the author to describe the galaxy, using maps and survey plans of locations featured in the story. The most important highlight for me is the relationship and closeness that has been cultivated by the families of Hope, Tennessee over the years. This is shown in what they have been able to achieve together and the challenges that they had been able to surmount. This Christian sci-fi book can be enjoyed by everybody and is a great work from Richard Collins.
