Crimson Leaves is a book of romantic poetry compiled by John Lambert. He searched for poetry that expressed ardor and added a few of his original pieces, too. Lambert has included familiar works by Shakespeare, Abigail Adams, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and other famous or prolific figures, and he outlines important details about the authors and their pieces. The poems show different aspects of structure, rhyme scheme, and poetic devices, but produce the same feeling of fondness for a particular person in the poet's life. Lambert's efforts resulted in his older and more modern works that can be appreciated in one book.

John Lambert captures the essence of romantic love with eloquence and depth, like a timeless dance of words and emotions. In his notes, the author gives readers another perspective to consider as they absorb the beauty of the poems, providing them with a fuller experience. Poems written by experienced fingers shape the beauty of love and seem to make it almost tangible. Lambert has included selections that embrace every feature of love, from passionate longing to silent meaningfulness. The images the pieces evoke bring the power of love to the lips of the reader and a sense of joy to the listener. The words beg to be read aloud either between lovers or in groups for expression. This will revive older pieces and bring newer ones the attention they deserve. Readers who enjoy poems with devotion and hints of history that focus on the passionate connections between people will love Crimson Leaves.

In Crimson Leaves, John Lambert presents an enthralling collection of over a hundred love poems, personal letters, and authentic quotes penned by poets and authors of different eras and parts of the world. Many of these poems have never been published before. "Awakening" tells the story of two youngsters developing feelings for each other for the first time. Love is the only thing that can sustain a long-term relationship, beautifully demonstrated in the poem "Love in the Long Run." The narrator speaks about an unforgettable childhood friendship in "First Friend." "The Cowboy's Dreams" follows a cowboy in his attempts to woo the love of his life. The narrator becomes overwhelmed by the charms of the girl of his dreams in "Swept Away." "Poetic Hugs & Kisses (TM)" shows two lovers as part of a singular whole.

Apart from John Lambert's own original poetry, Crimson Leaves also features an excerpt of a letter from Abigail Adams to John Adams written in 1782; Shakespeare's Sonnet #18 from the 16th century; the world's oldest known love poem written more than 4000 years ago during the reign of King Shu-Shin; the most famous Valentine poem, and much more. This collection contains love poems from many different eras, exploring romance and all its varied facets. The styles differ wildly from poem to poem, and each poem enriches the collection by bringing something unique of its own to the larger narrative, celebrating love and everything it entails. From the classics to contemporary love poems, this collection offers everything a poetry aficionado might savor. All in all, it's a treat for romance and poetry lovers.
