In Cryptic Blood by Don Stansberry, an attack on the Doomsday Vault has left a man dead, and various secrets have come to light. Cowboy had been hired to steal a container from the vault, but before he could get it to those who hired him, it was stolen from him by Jorge. Jorge is the third line of defense for the highly secretive consortium. Sensing that the robbery could have been an inside job, he decided to involve Father Kenzee and Simon in the protection of this potentially dangerous object. At first, they don't believe Jorge, but before they know it, they are in the middle of a struggle between very powerful forces, and Jorge has disappeared, possibly kidnapped. What is the infinity stone, and what can it do?
Cryptic Blood by Don Stansberry is wonderfully written, with twists and turns in the flawlessly flowing plotline that kept me on the edge of my seat. Once I started reading, there was no putting the book down. The writing was crisp with well-crafted dialogues, and I loved the steady narration, which added to the overall beauty of the book. The characters were also well-developed and unpredictable, which added to the intrigue. For instance, the character of Father Kenzee is interesting because he ends up in situations that can cause dilemmas for a priest. The author also ensured that all the events and places were vividly described, which helped me to create a mental picture of what was happening. I look forward to reading more by Don Stansberry.
