Dragon’s Fang Zombie Hunters: Mission One by Alexander Bettin takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity survives in fortified cities while dangerous zombies roam the wastelands beyond. The story follows Thompson Lee, who travels for three months across harsh territory to reach Rock Haven and fulfill his dream of joining the legendary Dragon’s Fang Guild. Once he arrives in Rock Haven, Thompson finally meets members of the famous guild he has admired for years. He quickly befriends fellow recruit Jacob Bellfire and is introduced to colorful hunters whose personalities bring energy and humor to the guild hall. Under the guidance of the experienced Elias Redd, Thompson begins training and learns about the dangers posed by different zombie classes. As preparations for his first mission begin, excitement builds as he takes his first steps toward becoming a true Guild Hunter.

The writing in Dragon’s Fang Zombie Hunters is fast-paced and highly visual. The novel makes effective use of the first-person narration, allowing readers to experience Thompson’s enthusiasm and determination directly through his perspective. Worldbuilding details are woven naturally into the narrative, and the pacing balances action with training, friendship, and discovery. Foreshadowing, vivid sensory descriptions, and character contrasts add variety throughout the story. Fans of zombie fiction, fantasy adventure, and guild-based storytelling will enjoy the blend of danger, humor, and character interaction. Readers who appreciate stories about determined heroes finding their place in a larger world will find much to enjoy here. Alexander Bettin has created a unique, action-driven story set in a world where survival, teamwork, and larger-than-life threats drive the narrative. I enjoyed it tremendously.

In Alexander Bettin’s Dragon’s Fang Zombie Hunters, Thompson Lee reaches Rock Haven after three months on foot, carrying only his weapons, his Orange Zone survival training, and a goal: join Dragon’s Fang, the hunter guild protecting the city from evolving zombies. Accepted as a rookie beside Jacob Bellfire, Lee learns that the work reaches beyond kills outside the wall, where missing convoys, trapped civilians, and infected hunters can turn a training job into a fight for survival. S-rank Hunter Locksley becomes their instructor after a mission changes the Guild’s plans. At the same time, John O’Ryan searches the Orange Zone for Sophia Lang, a missing child whose trail leads toward a hidden bio-nest. As Rock Haven prepares for wider danger, Lee must prove he belongs before the enemy reaches the safe zones.

Alexander Bettin’s Dragon’s Fang Zombie Hunters enters Rock Haven’s undead war—and man, is it cool to read about. Bettin runs off the beaten path by doing dual first-person narrations, mostly in Lee's voice, but in a quick twist toward the end, he makes a transition to O'Ryan. It's really well done and gives us a better sense of who these two are and what everyone is up against. Lee is likeable and wildly impatient. O’Ryan is my favorite because he's a bit of a dark horse. The guy knows how to lead an assault and save people. Bettin is exceptional at writing visual prose, the standout being Wayfarer’s Rest, with its torn tents and torchlight moving against open darkness, just before the dead arrive. Bettin does not write factory-assembled zombies. At least, not in the way we think. More than shambling bodies, these zombies are capable of breeding, and more. Readers who enjoy intelligent zombie hunting and survival horror will love this book. Very highly recommended.

In Dragon's Fang Zombie Hunters by Alexander Bettin, humanity hides in walled sanctuaries while private squads fight monsters outside. We follow Thompson, a tough, headstrong survivor who makes a brutal trek to the city of Rock Haven to enlist. He is quickly paired with Jacob, an energetic recruit with a competitive edge, under the guidance of Elias, a charismatic veteran who doesn't mind bending the rules. The game completely changes once Thompson uncovers a terrifying truth: the brainless hordes are being weaponized and directed by calculating, highly advanced bio-monsters. To survive his initial deployments, Thompson has to absorb the harsh lessons of the city's legendary five—including the unstoppable Crimson Knight, Hunter Locksley. The issue is that their standard training protocols can't keep up with a threat that is actively evolving. So will Thompson master the balance between instinct and teamwork before the next wave swallows him whole?

Dragon’s Fang Zombie Hunters by Alexander Bettin is an action-packed apocalyptic adventure that does a fantastic job of letting the reader experience the world through the eyes of someone who grew up on its dangerous edges. Thompson’s journey isn’t just about moving from one town to another; we see how his past in a lawless territory shapes the way he breathes, walks, and views others. He starts as a headstrong traveler looking for a purpose, but watching him morph into a team player who actually listens to warnings is very satisfying. The author treats the passage of time like a physical weight, making you feel the literal days of dust-choked traveling and the sudden, breathless panic of a midnight alarm. Instead of jumping from one big explosion to the next, the sequence of events flows naturally from a low-key introduction to a chaotic clash. It builds up momentum slowly, allowing the tension to simmer during long highway drives before dropping the bottom out from under the rookies during their very first official deployments. If you're a fan of The Walking Dead or Metro 2033, then this one will sweep you right into the dirt alongside a squad of fighters who actually have to sweat and scramble for every single victory.
