Arshes Megane has brought her father, Daelen StormTiger, from the past and now faces one more dilemma: she must figure out how to defeat Daelen, who will be the Monster hellbent on annihilating Tempestria in the future. Only one person can help her with this; Alycia, Daelen’s long-lost sister. However, nearly two thousand years have passed since year zero, the point where all knowledge of Tempestria ceases, and no one seems to have a clue about Alycia’s whereabouts. Relying on her wits and guidance from her mother’s staff, Arshes is about to meet three individuals who are virtually unknown in Tempestria yet pivotal to its history. They will help her not only locate Alycia but also reveal the history behind Falycia, the lost world. What is Arshes going to discover on her latest quest? Find out in First Wizard: The Salvation of Tempestria Book 9 by Gary Stringer.

Gary Stringer never ceases to amaze me with the depth of imagination and lore in the Salvation of Tempestria series. First Wizard is the ninth installment, yet its storyline is so rich that I could only tear my eyes off the pages after the final word. This page-turner is the series' origin story. I was thrust into the intriguing history of Falycia, the original world of the facsimile Tempestria, as well as the history of the original three Guardians. The timelines are still intricate, and it is almost dizzying to follow the logic of events as the lines between the past, present, and future blur. However, the fascinating characters, the implications around their actions, the adventure, the plot twists, and the way the story is interwoven like pieces of a puzzle fitting together make it worthwhile. Arshes is about to gain a better understanding of the legacy she has inherited, an important part of her preparation for the ultimate feat ahead. I highly recommend reading the previous installments before diving into this incredible addition to the Salvation of Tempestria series.
