Forbidden Fruit by Damon E Johnson is a collection of poetry on love, specifically romantic or passionate love. This is a fairly short collection and most poems are just a few sentences each. The book is divided into three sections: Fruits of Love, Fruits of Passion, and Fruits of Desire. The poems in each of these sections deal with the theme of love between a man and a woman or partners. Although some of the poems are related to separation, pain, heartbreak, or anxiety, most of them revolve around love, romantic passion, and lust between lovers.
I found this to be one of the best poetry books I have read in a long time. There is a natural flow and rhythm to the lines and Damon E Johnson obviously has a flair for putting words together. This poetry collection has some of the best melody and rhymes, and the words enhance each other to elevate the poetry to another level. I also enjoyed the theme of romantic and passionate love that is infused throughout the book that makes this not only rich but sexy poetry. At the same time, given the subject matter, nowhere does it feel vulgar or as something that is deliberately put together for sensationalism. Instead, it comes across as genuine and true love rather than simple lust. All in all, Forbidden Fruit by Damon E Johnson is a great poetry book and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys poetry.
