From LA to London, With Love by Elizabeth Luly is a contemporary romance that would appeal most to those who enjoy drama, real love, and movie stars and who do not mind adult content like sexual scenes, swearing, and social issues. Sophie Shah is a mixed-race single mother living with her parents and trying to do the best for herself and her baby. However, her daily routine is disrupted when she storms out of a mothers' support group after an insensitive question. She runs straight into Chris Trent, not knowing that he is a movie star who has just moved to London with his dog to get away from compromising photos that his former girlfriend released online. Will the chance meeting result in a real relationship for Sophie and Chris or will the past stop them from taking a leap of faith and giving the relationship a chance?
From LA to London, With Love by Elizabeth Luly is a well-written book that I found to be both believable and enjoyable. I liked the fact that one chance meeting does not result in an instant love match between Sophie and Chris, but instead just a certain amount of interest that grew throughout the plot. The author also added real-life problems that come from having a baby and a dog to the lives of both Sophie and Chris, which made the story feel so much more realistic. It was easy to get wrapped up in their lives as the author shared the characters' inner thoughts and feelings about each other. I appreciated the way this allowed me to get to know each of them as an individual and not just as one half of a relationship. I loved this book and I hope the author continues to write in this genre as she has a talent for it!
