My name is Keegan Harkins. I have written daily devotions for an international ministry for a number of years, and the connections I have made through this inspired this book. My writing has introduced me to some very real heroes who put their lives on the line to follow God. Real life often requires us to make very hard decisions. Sometimes, the best of plans fall apart. I wanted to write a book that spoke to people who have ever struggled, ever lost something they dearly wanted, ever doubted their faith, or ever face an uncertain tomorrow. This book reveals my passion for the Lord and my belief that He is always in control - even when I don't understand.
In addition to being a writer, I am also a wife and a mother. I live in rural Montana with my family, two dogs and two cats. We enjoy all the outdoor activities Montana has to offer and love to camp, fish and just hang out by the river. I do enjoy a number of hobbies, but writing has always been my passion. Grasping Destiny by Keegan Harkins is a densely plotted novel that is both entertaining and inspiring. Marcus, the rightful heir to the kingdom of Morovia, receives a surprising blow: his kingdom has been stolen from him. He doesn’t only lose the one thing that belonged to him, but his life is in grave danger as well. Now, he has to learn to survive first before dreaming about regaining the throne. Follow him in a journey of faith, thrust into a world of chaos, relying solely on God’s strength and protection and the support of a few friends. But can God provide everything he needs and can his friends help him find safety and regain the throne that has been ruthlessly stolen from him? What happens when God’s will is very clear, but too difficult to accomplish?
This is a tale of hope, of faith, and humanity. Readers find a hero they can connect with easily in Marcus, a man whose faith in God is tested in ways he could never have imagined. But it is interesting to discover how he becomes stronger through the trials of his life, the role that friends play in his journey, and the place of God in his life. The story features many action-packed and emotionally charged scenes. The reader will long to find out what happens next, thanks to the author’s gift for narrative and compelling prose. Grasping Destiny is a story that will teach readers that the end might not always justify the means, and that the destination may not be what matters most but the road we travel. Keegan Harkins’ writing is enticing and she is a master storyteller who plunges the reader into the world of the protagonist, making them feel as if they have always belonged there.
