Jim & Tim by James Maxwell Jr. is a children’s story that centers on the depth of a true friendship between two different personalities that would normally be at odds rather than being the best of friends. Jim enjoys more scientific interests as Tim enjoys sporting hobbies as well as the typical toys little boys possess. Jim is terribly upset over one of his favorite hobbies and Tim decides to do whatever he can to help so that his friend will be happy and playful again.
Jim & Tim by James Maxwell Jr. is a wonderful children’s tale full of beautifully and brightly illustrated pages that allow the young reader to get the full impact of the story; providing a visual into the lives of Jim and Tim. The characters are easy for children to relate to and identify with as they express their thoughts much the way any child would. The plot of this book provides a lifelong lesson of how even the most unlikely characteristics of different personalities can come together and find that not only do they like each other, but they are the best of friends. I love how Jim & Tim sends a positive message to children about how great it is to help another person as the character Tim tries to help Jim. James Maxwell Jr. has an uncanny skill for writing children’s stories that I would recommend to anyone with children.
