Just Like You by Tami L Ullom is an endearing children’s book about fatherhood and the bond shared between father and son. This lovely story paints a moving picture of this bond through the seasons. Told in rhyme, the story uses short sentences and simple words that encourage young listeners to follow along. Just Like You starts with a man remembering his time growing up as a boy, then turns to thinking about spending time with his own son. The story is echoed with stunning illustrations that feature the highlights of his memories as he tells his story.
In today's fast-paced culture, fathers can sometimes be the unsung heroes of the family. In Just Like You, author Tami L Ullom shines a light on the special relationship and role a father holds in the family. Here she tells the story of a new father as he realizes how blessed he was to have a loving father to teach him what it meant to be a man. The catchy rhythm of the story carries the reader along as the tale unfolds in a pleasant current. Just Like You is a delight to read and sure to excite the little boys. The book takes a loving look at fatherhood and what it means to be a father, presenting a touching story for the boys. We tend to see a lot of books about mothers and motherhood, but not as many about fathers and what a caring father looks like. This book does a wonderful job of doing just that. I loved seeing the story unfold in a series of memories.
